My Favorite Place... Pike Place Market

My Family and I have been to Seattle a couple of times and although I love Seattle, my favorite place is Pike Place Market. This is my favorite play place for several different reasons. I love the diversity of this place and all the different people this place attract. People from all over the world come to visit this place. Next thing that I love about this place is all of the cute little shops that are within the market. All of the shops the cutest, most unique, and handmade items. The thing I love the most about Pike Place Market is all of the food and different places to eat. All of the food is fresh and amazing. But, my two favorite places to eat are the Russian pastries place and Beecher's cheese. I highly recommend going to Pike Place Market if you ever get the opportunity.

    Oh, I have been there too, Kenzie... and what a great city it is! There was a special kind of cinnamon tea I used to get there (super-strong; it was INTENSE), and a friend of mine who lived in Seattle used to send me that tea but she moved away too (this is back in ANCIENT times, before the Internet, so getting specialty goods from another city was a big deal, ha ha). Anyway, that is such a great part of the country, and also there are some beautiful storytelling traditions from the Native peoples of the Pacific Northwest (Indigenous Tribes of Seattle and Washington link): maybe this is something you will want to learn about in this class! Week 4 Story: The Magical Deer

Her name was Penelope and she was so beautiful. Penelope and nothing to her name and scavenged and farmed all that she had. One day, as she was walking through the forest looking for anything to eat she came across a baby deer trapped in a hole. Penelope quickly helped the deer out of the hole and it ran away in fear so she went along picking her berries. The nest day she is outside of her little house tending to her garden she could see the deer standing afar. She tried getting it to come to her but it would not so she left some food out for it and went inside.  The next morning, she found the deer lying next to the front door when she walked outside and the poor deer just laid there.
