Time Strategies

Image
I found this image off of google and thought it was a funny representation of time management.  https://quotesgram.com/time-management-quotes-funny/   My tentative schedule for this course is going to be Monday I will do Reading A, Tuesday will be Reading B and story. Wednesday will be blog comments and Thursday will be Project and Project Feedback.  The first article that I read and enjoyed was, Four Questions to Help You Overcome Procrastination. I have a really bad habit of procrastinating and waiting until the last minute for everything. I liked this article because it showcased the negative affects of procrastination in order for you to realize how detrimental procrastination can be in anything. I also liked the idea of breaking everything up into smaller tasks to complete at one time, that could potentially help a lot.  https://lifehacker.com/four-questions-to-help-you-overcome-procrastination-1784833178 The next article I found very useful was The Psychology of Checklists. Technology and Tools for Class

Image
I found this cool pic off of google and I liked it because it represented technology and tool and how they work together.  https://www.theatlantic.com/education/archive/2020/05/remote-career-technical-school-covid-19-pandemic/611047/   I have never used any of the used the majority of the sites and tools that we will be using for this course. Although, I feel as if I am fairly technologically smart so I do no believe that it will be hard for me to learn how to use them. I have also never had a blog or a published website so this will all be very new to me as well. I am excited to learn more about these websites and tools to use more in the future.

Impression of Assignments

Image
I found this image off of another blog posts regarding assignments.  https://andrewpegoda.com/2015/02/07/the-unspoken-problem-with-low-stakes-assignments/ For the core assignments of this course, I like the fact that there is a variety of different assignments and it won't be super repetitive. Also, with there being 6 core assignments each week I feel as it may get overwhelming at times when I am super busy with other courses and working. I also like that there are so many opportunities for extra credit just in case I know I am going to be super busy at a specific time. In that instance I will be able to do some extra credit assignments either the week before or after and be able to make up any points missed.

A Growth Mindset

Image
I found this picture on the internet and thought it was cool way to showcase growth mindset and how it takes work to achieve a growth mindset. https://thekindergartensmorgasboard.com/2016/01/growth-mindset-for-teachers-and.html   Carol Dweck examines human inspiration. She goes through her days jumping into why individuals succeed (or don't) and what's inside our control to encourage achievement. Her hypothesis of the two mentalities and the distinction they make in results is unbelievably incredible.  As she depicts it: "My work spans formative brain science, social brain science, and character brain science, and looks at the self-originations (or outlooks) individuals use to structure oneself and guide their conduct. My examination takes a gander at the causes of these mentalities, their job in inspiration and self-guideline, and their effect on accomplishment and relational cycles."  Her investigation into our convictions is orchestrated in Mindset: The New Psychol

Introduction to Me and My Blog

Image
This photo was taken at our family farm in Arkansas last fall and was uploaded from my computer. Hello my name is Kenzie Golden and welcome to my blog. I am from Cherokee, Oklahoma which is a really small town in northwest Oklahoma. I grew up on a farm and went to a really small high school with only 19 students in my graduating class. I am a junior at The University of Oklahoma. Back home along with my parents I have two younger siblings and a two year old aussiedoodle and a cat. Some of my Hobbes include sports, painting, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family. My favorite foods are Italian food and any kind of breakfast food. I am currently working at a gym and in the middle of getting my personal train certification. I chose to come to OU because being from such a small town I knew that I wanted to get out into the world and experience new things. I knew absolutely no one as an incoming freshman at the university but I joined a sorority and quickly made so many friend

Storybooks

Image
This image was pulled from google to represent the overall subject of this blog.  https://edynamiclearning.com/course/high-school-mythology-course/ The first storybook I chose was The Wizarding World Tales. The first is about a town that has an altar with a flame that, when dim, werewolves regularly target. The "men dressed in blue" were cops referenced in the first story. A werewolf sets off the fence alert in the town and a police officer sees it flee ultimately.   The second is the story was that of Schippeitaro, in which a little fellow needs to achieve an errand to demonstrate he is chivalrous. He winds up in a backwoods where he remains for the time being and hears/sees spirits that seem as though felines reciting about Schippeitaro. He at that point hears crying and winds up meeting a gathering of centaurs who are focused by a Forest Spirit that executes a lady in their gathering each year. The kid recalls the spirits discussing Schippeitaro and makes sense of this cou

My Favorite Place... Pike Place Market

Image
This is a picture of the main entrance of Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington. I found this picture of a Travel site that explores Seattle.  https://images.app.goo.gl/cF7BaDWQ7e2Eaku4A My Family and I have been to Seattle a couple of times and although I love Seattle, my favorite place is Pike Place Market. This is my favorite play place for several different reasons. I love the diversity of this place and all the different people this place attract. People from all over the world come to visit this place. Next thing that I love about this place is all of the cute little shops that are within the market. All of the shops the cutest, most unique, and handmade items. The thing I love the most about Pike Place Market is all of the food and different places to eat. All of the food is fresh and amazing. But, my two favorite places to eat are the Russian pastries place and Beecher's cheese. I highly recommend going to Pike Place Market if you ever get the opportunity.
