Week 9 Story: Tiny Tales of Bailey

This image is from the fox and hound but this my representation and inspiration of Bailey and the Fox. Image

Bailey, the Fox, and the Rabbit

Bailey and the Fox went out to find food.

The Fox was fast enough to catch a rabbit, but Bailey was not.

Bailey was very angry that the fox caught some food, so he wanted to get revenge on the Fox.

Bailey sat and admired the rabbit.

Can you help me gather some wood to cook it? Said Bailey.

The Fox eagerly jumped up go and get wood that he let the rabbit loose.

Bailey sped up and caught the rabbit, scarfing it down in one gulp.

When the fox returned he was so sad and hungry.

Bailey never told the fox the truth.

Bailey and the Crunchy Soup

As time goes on Bailey keeps tricking the fox.

Now the Fox wants to get revenge.

The fox invited Bailey to come and eat dinner with him.

The fox was to cook a big dinner.

The Fox made a soup, but it had many crunch pieces in it.

Bailey asked, Where did you find these crunchy pieces?

They are delicious, he continued to spout.

I got to the chicken coop and grab the chickens by their leg and pull off their nails, Bailey replied.

When bailey went to try and do that the chicken bit off a piece of Bailey’s ear.

That is how the notch in Bailey’s ear got there.

The Fox Tricks Bailey

The Fox wants to try and trick Bailey for all of the times he did it to him.

The fox decided to lay under Bailey’s bed until he asleep.

When Bailey was snoring so loudly the whole town could hear, the fox jumped on top of him and then ran.

Bailey jumped up so fast thinking that he was hallucinating or dreaming.

But then he heard cluttering in the kitchen.

The Fox had been running through the house in all rooms making weird noises.

Bailey thought something was wrong with him and he was going crazy.

Today Bailey still thinks about that night.

Authors Note: The Tiny Tales of Anansi included 50 short 100 word stories. These stories contained content of primarily the daily life of Anansi. He had a friend in a tiger and he was included in almost all of the stories. The two of them would go out together, have fun together, and get in trouble together. There are also some stories that include some other animals and adventures they went on or things that they have done to other animals.

The two of them loved to play tricks on each other all the time. That is why in my short stories I decided to retell some of the tricks that they played on each other. I made it almost as a friendly competition between the two.

  1. Hi KG,
I enjoyed reading this story so much. It's very well written. I didn't know we can write multiple 100 words stories like that for the story of the week. I also like how you included revenge on this story. I wished Bailey knew what was going on so they can try to fix it. The fox is very crafty he knew how to get back to Bailey. I hope one day the fox will tell Bailey what happened. Good Job on the story.

  2. Hey Kenzie! I thought the way you set up your storytelling for this post was super cool! The way you spread it out and kept the writing very simple definitely made it a smooth read. I thought your Author's Note did a great job of providing background information for us readers while also explaining how you were inspired by the original piece as a whole. Great job!
